The Brandman Centers for Senior Care (BCSC), a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), provides high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services. We are a program of Los Angeles Jewish Health, renowned for providing quality care to vulnerable seniors.
The responsibilities of the Director of Performance Excellence & Strategy include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Enterprise Performance
- Develop and execute the organization's Performance Excellence and Operational Strategy roadmap aligned with corporate objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Establish enterprise-wide performance excellence frameworks that drive operational consistency, quality outcomes, regulatory readiness, and financial stewardship.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on operational transformation, process optimization, cost containment, scalability, and organizational effectiveness.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on performance trends, operational risks, compliance concerns, and improvement opportunities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, and operational discipline across all business units.
Operational Excellence & Governance
- Provide executive oversight for enterprise process governance, standardization programs, and operational compliance frameworks.
- Ensure standardized operating models, policies, procedures, and playbooks are consistently deployed and sustained across all centers and departments.
- Lead the development and implementation of operational maturity models to evaluate adoption, compliance, and effectiveness of standardized practices.
- Establish governance structures that ensure accountability for operational performance and adherence to organizational standards.
- Oversee enterprise audits, operational reviews, gap assessments, and remediation initiatives.
Quality, Compliance & Regulatory Excellence
- Partner with Quality, Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs leadership to ensure organizational readiness for federal, state, accreditation, and payer requirements.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen quality outcomes, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational risk mitigation.
- Monitor emerging regulatory requirements and ensure operational standards remain current and compliant.
- Develop executive-level reporting and dashboards to monitor compliance performance and corrective action effectiveness.
Business Intelligence, Analytics & Performance Measurement
- Establish and lead the enterprise performance measurement strategy.
- Oversee development of organizational KPIs, scorecards, benchmarks, and executive dashboards.
- Drive adoption of advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and business intelligence tools to support strategic decision-making.
- Partner with Information Technology and Data Analytics teams to harmonize data sources and establish a single source of truth for organizational performance.
- Lead the business intelligence roadmap, balancing strategic initiatives with operational reporting needs.
- Utilize advanced reporting tools including Power BI and emerging data science methodologies to identify trends and opportunities.
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management, and Continuous Improvement methodologies throughout the organization.
- Lead enterprise process improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, customer experience, workforce productivity, and cost reduction.
- Sponsor root cause analyses and performance improvement projects addressing critical organizational priorities.
- Ensure continuous improvement efforts are measurable, sustainable, and aligned with strategic objectives.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development for the Performance Excellence Manager / Analyst and associated team members.
- Build organizational capability in process improvement, operational governance, change management, and performance management.
- Partner with Operations and Training teams to develop education programs that reinforce standard work and performance excellence principles.
- Influence stakeholders at all levels to drive adoption of organizational standards and improvement initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Expert knowledge of Operational Excellence, Lean Management, Six Sigma, Change Management, and Process Governance methodologies.
- Strong understanding of healthcare quality, compliance, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and influence organizational change.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with expertise in KPI development, dashboard design, and performance measurement.
- Exceptional executive presence with the ability to communicate complex information to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in highly matrixed environments.
- Strong strategic planning, project management, and organizational development skills.
- Experience utilizing Power BI, data visualization tools, predictive analytics, and business intelligence platforms.
Education & Experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, Organizational Leadership, Public Health, or related field.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in Performance Excellence, Operational Excellence, Quality Improvement, Strategy, Healthcare Operations, or Process Transformation.
- Minimum of 5 years leading enterprise-level teams and organizational improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience developing enterprise governance frameworks, performance management systems, and operational standards.
- Proven success leading large-scale strategic and operational transformation initiatives.
Education & Experience preferred:
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), Engineering, or related field.
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
- Certification in Change Management, Project Management, Lean Enterprise, or Organizational Development.
- Experience within healthcare, health plans, value-based care organizations, PACE programs, hospice, home health, or integrated delivery systems.
- Experience supporting accreditation, regulatory audits, and compliance programs.
