Brandman Centers for Senior Care (BCSC) $31.00 - $33.00 an hourUnder the direction and supervision of the BCSC Marketing Director, the PACE Enrollment Specialist (ES) is responsible for enrolling qualified Seniors to the BCSC, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and growing our Participant Census in the greater Los Angeles area. The ES will perform continuous weekly outreach to the community to spread awareness of PACE and specifically the BCSC PACE program in their assigned catchment area. As an ES, you will identify new referral sources and generate new lead referrals from each of those new sources and maintain the business relationships on-going with each of their referral sources.

Outreach Responsibilities:
- Refine and implement an Outreach Strategy with specific calendared activity tied to specific objectives for the catchment areas served by BCSC PACE.
- Coordinate additional Outreach efforts with LAJH Marketing Department.
- Perform Community Outreach efforts and activities including presentations, educational opportunities, and other special events, which may occur beyond normal business hours.
- Create and present PowerPoint presentations to educate and differentiate about our BCSC PACE Program, and be able to speak “off the cuff” about the benefits to PACE and why it should be the preferred Health Plan for all qualified Seniors.
- Maintain a CRM database of Community Service Information, contacts, and events.
- The ES must be able to convince seniors and their families that BCSC PACE is the right thing for their health and social well-being and that “NOW-Not later” is the time to consider PACE as their Health Plan.
- The ES must develop and maintain a full pipeline of current, short term, and longer term prospects in order to meet their Key Performance Indicators and increase the census of BCSC PACE Participants.
Enrollment Responsibilities:
- Report to BCSC Marketing Director weekly on current, short term and longer term prospective enrollees.
- Manage enrollment process and perform all intake functions in coordination with other BCSC marketing staff, working closely with the Center Manager, the Interdisciplinary Team, Home Care, LOC Nurse, Doctors, and Transportation department to assure appropriateness of prospective enrollees.
- Schedule prospective enrollee visits to describe and answer questions regarding PACE services.
- Immediately follow-up on all leads for prospective BCSC PACE Program interested parties and respective inquiries, and make every effort to reach all parties who inquire about our BCSC PACE Program.
- During the residence visits, confirm residence, transport and neighborhood safety factors. Report any indications of safety concerns or abuse according to BCSC policy and California law.
- Deliver appropriate prospective enrollee medical record information and releases, and in-person presentation to the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) prior to assessment for each candidate.
- Work closely with Center Manager and IDT to ensure that potential enrollees are greeted and oriented to the PACE Center during visits.
- With the Center Manager and Social Worker, execute the enrollment conference ensuring that the applicant and/or his/her/their representative are fully apprised of all required enrollment information.
- When applicable, document the reasons an applicant does not qualify for PACE, discuss these with the applicant and family or caregiver and provide referral information about other community services.
- Once enrollments are finalized, inform BCSC administrative staff and ensure a copy of the Enrollment Agreement and Medicare and Medi-Cal cards are provided to Medical Records/HPS.
- Maintain current documentation on each applicant and participant who requests information about BCSC or seeks to enroll in BCSC.
Education and Experience
- Degree and diplomas: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Sociology, Business Administration, Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- Certificates, Licenses: DHCS Certification as a marketing representative within 30 days of hire. Verification of completion of CPR (BLS) and first aid training. Must have a valid California driver’s license. TB screening and successful completion of a health examination by a health care provider is required for employment.
- Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in sales-oriented health services marketing or public relations. Experience in increasing market share and/or rolling out new programs preferred. Must possess knowledge of how PACE fits in the continuum of care and compares to other service/benefits that are available in the community. Demonstration of strong community networking contacts.
- Skills/Aptitudes: Comprehensive understanding of the current healthcare environment for seniors, including managed care. Must possess cultural awareness and sensitivity and have strong belief in the PACE model, mission and philosophy. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have demonstrated ability to deliver service to the elderly and fellow employees with compassion and in a responsive and courteous manner.
