The Brandman Centers for Senior Care (BCSC), a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), provides high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services. We are a program of Los Angeles Jewish Health, renowned for providing quality care to vulnerable seniors.
The responsibilities of the Transportation Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Plans and coordinates all transportation scheduling activities for BCSC.
- Develops, implements and monitors transportation policies and procedures to assure participant and staff safety.
- Works with all contracted transportation to be sure BCSC Drivers are compliant with all BCSC policies.
- Develops and monitors a system to assure that all BCSC Drivers meet licensing requirements.
- Supervises all transportation for all participants.
- Develops and implements a staff training program for Drivers.
- Coordinates all services provided through contract by transportation vendor .
- Assures that staff follows the correct protocol in the event of an accident or emergency.
- Assures all transportation records and reports are maintained according to policy.
- Participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Understands fiscal issues and is appropriately involved in meeting budget targets.
- Complies with safety policies and procedures, identifying and immediately reporting any potential or actual unsafe acts or conditions to the Center Director. Takes necessary measures to ensure a safe environment for oneself, co-workers, contractors, participants, visitors and others.
- Consistently meets or exceeds BCSC targets for productivity.
- Continually seeks better ways for delivering services and communicating with participants.
- Consistently meets or exceeds BCSC customer services targets.
- Demonstrates respect for and promotes participants rights, including dignity, self-determination, access to care, confidentiality and independence.
- Understands the importance of community involvement and participates as appropriate in activities that link BCSC to its communities.
- Effectively collaborates with staff peers and contractors to meet BCSC goals and further success.
- Complies with all policy and procedures of BCSC.
- Demonstrates proficiency in delivering age-specific care.
- Consistently meets or exceeds BCSC quality assessment and performance improvement targets.
- Completes all other job duties related to the care and well-being of BCSC participants.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Degree and diplomas: Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificates, Licenses: Valid California driver’s license (Class B or C) with no moving violations in last 2 years and good driving record. Verification of completion of CPR (BLS) and first aid training. TB screening and successful completion of a health examination by a health care provider is required for employment.
- Experience: One-year dispatch/transportation coordination experience preferred and at least one year with the frail elderly.
- Skill: Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred. Comfort in working with frail elderly participants. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Good interpersonal skills. Reporting and organizational skills. Must be computer literate with Word and Excel.
